Competition

Competitions will take place in venues carefully selected to provide the best possible conditions for athletes and spectators alike. Each site reflects the host country’s commitment to university sport, offering high-quality facilities in a setting designed for international events.

Format

The rowing competitions will be organized in accordance with the most recent technical regulations of the “Fédération Internationale des Sociétés d’Aviron” (FISA), except for the regulation concerning the coxswains, who may be of either gender for the FISU World University Championships. In any dispute the English text shall be regarded as authoritative.

The following events will be open for entry. Additional requests will not be honoured.

Each country is authorized to present a maximum of one (1) crew per event. The delegation may include officials in proportion to the number of participants entered as follows:

• Up to nine (9) participants: two (2) officials;
• Up to twenty (20) participants: four (4) officials;
• Over twenty (20) participants: five (5) officials.

At the first General Technical Meeting, the Head of Delegation or his/her representative shall confirm and sign the official list of competitors.

Any additional officials beyond the numbers listed above will be charged €160 per person per day.

Venue

Competition and training will take place at the Doug Wells Training Centre located on Lake Fanshawe in London Ontario, Canada. This training centre is the home of the Western Mustangs Rowing Team and the former home of the Canadian National Team. Additional training facilities will be available on the Western University campus.

Access to Fanshawe Lake is available through Fanshawe Conservation Area, located at 1424 Clarke Road. Upon arrival at Fanshawe Conservation Area, please stop at the entrance gate. Upon entering the park, look for signs and take your first right for parking at the rowing venue.

Schedule

Competition will occur August 13-15th. Provisional competition schedule will be posted once number of entries and delegations are known.

Technical Equipment

BOAT RENTAL
The organizing committee will provide the boats and oars at a charge of €45 per seat per day for crews travelling overseas (i.e. not from the North American continent – including Canada, US and Mexico).

Hudson Boat Works and local clubs are our partners for boats. Accessories such as a CoxBox and Speedcoach are not provided. 8+’s will be equipped with Nielsen-Kellerman cables and speakers. An inventorisation of which shoe sizes are required will take place after the individual entry deadline. Oars will be provided by Concept2 and have a green inner handle by default. The outer handle can be configured on site. Details on your boat will be confirmed as soon as possible. North American crews are encouraged to bring their own boats and oars. There will be sufficient boat racks, and parking spaces for boat trailers.

Training

The racing facility will be open daily for training periods starting Monday August 10th. Please see the provisional schedule for details. Earlier arrivals can be coordinated. Teams wishing to do so should contact the LOC directly.
