We are officially two months away from seeing Fanshawe Lake transformed into an international stage for university rowing.
From August 13–15, 2026, the 2026 FISU World University Championship Rowing will take over Fanshawe Lake at Fanshawe Conservation Area, bringing international university sport to one of London’s most scenic outdoor venues. With the countdown now at the two-month mark, excitement is building as athletes, teams, supporters, volunteers, and spectators prepare for three days of racing in London, Ontario.
This is not just another summer event. FISU Rowing 2026 will bring student-athletes from around the world to London for high-level international competition, giving the community a chance to experience world-class rowing right here at home. Fanshawe Lake will become the centre of the action as crews line up on the water, race for their nations, and showcase the speed, strength, and precision that make rowing such an exciting sport to watch.
The venue also gives spectators more than just a seat on the sidelines. Located within Fanshawe Conservation Area, Fanshawe Lake is surrounded by green space, trails, picnic areas, and day-use amenities, making it the perfect place to spend a summer day. Whether you are coming for the racing, bringing family along, meeting friends, or exploring the park before or after the event, this setting makes the championship feel like a true community experience.
Visitors can enjoy the natural space around the reservoir, with access to hiking and biking trails, picnic areas, BBQs, playground space, and washroom facilities. For those looking to make a full day of it, Fanshawe Conservation Area is already a popular spot for outdoor recreation, including fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and trail use. During FISU Rowing 2026, that same park atmosphere will become the backdrop for an international championship.
Spectator admission to the rowing event is free, meaning no event ticket is required to watch the races. Please note that standard Fanshawe Conservation Area entry or parking fees may still apply when accessing the site.
Planning to come out? Visitors are encouraged to review the Fanshawe Conservation Area map ahead of time to get familiar with parking, park access, trails, and where to go on event day.
As we hit the two-month countdown, now is the time to mark your calendar, start planning your visit, and get ready to be part of a major international sporting moment in London, Ontario! More event details, including race schedules, spectator information, participating teams, and updates, will be shared in the coming weeks.
